About Us
Triple A Boxing Club was formed in 1993 by Sam Sampson and Peter Down. Both are qualified ABA coaches having spent several years with Lowestoft ABC.
The club has had several different bases including a youth centre and a martial arts gym, before finally moving to their current headquaters in St Johns Road Lowestoft in 1998.
Triple A have earned a well deserved reputation for producing skilful junior and senior boxers capable of taking on the best in the country. The club currently has a stable of 20 carded lads and a total membership of over 80 boys and girls aged 7-30.
Triple A have always tried to adopt progressive training methods which includes a nursery club for 7-10 year olds and a girls night which is run by Sarah Down who qualified as an ABA coach in 1999.
Triple A have formed a very successful partnership with John Cremin of sports wholesalers "PureSport", the clubs main sponsor.
The club have promoted many memorable shows at the Wherry Hotel and more recently at Kessingland Beach Holiday Village in partnership with PureSport. Triple A shows normally feature home club boxers in the majority of bouts and, on several occasions the entire 12 bout programme featured local lads.
Triple A have also gained a reputation as a community based club and this is reflected by their partnership with the Suffolk Probation Service. The club is used as a work placement for clients on community service orders who have carried out much of the major renovation work in the gym.
Triple A recently recieved a major financial boost when they were awarded a lottery grant. The money will go towards extra equipment and the development of their coach-training programme.
With their modern training methods, successful partnerships, fully equipped gym and ever increasing membership, the future looks very bright for this progressive young club
