Press Releases

No business person worth his/her salt should fail to utilise the power of press releases. They can generate more business for you cheaper and quicker than virtually any other marketing method.

Surprising then that so few people in business go to the trouble of implementing a press release campaign for their business, product or service. Maybe there is more of an excuse conventionally, but as far as electronic press releases go, it’s so easy to effect that not to put together even the smallest of campaigns seems a missed opportunity.

Begin by submitting a press release about your Web site, or product/service to all the related ezines, online newsletters, discussion groups and mailing lists. By using your email program, you can actually submit your press release to all these sources at once rather than contacting them individually. However, we think you’ll be far more successful if you are more selective and more personal in your targeting.

In addition to submitting press releases online, you shouldn’t omit offline press releases, especially if you run a local business. Contact all your local publishing mediums. This you should do personally, but to cast your net a little further, you could make use of the Internet to submit press releases you’d like to appear in offline publications.

A good place to start would be to visit the following site which has direct links to over 2,000 media sources:

Other good sources include:

(search 150,000 magazines, journals and newsletters)

(search 100,000+ magazines, journals and newsletters)
