THE RIVER FOWEY
Rises on Bodmin Moor taking a southerly direction under the A30 east of Jamaica Inn, then west over the picturesque Golitha Falls to Twowatersfoot where it joins the St. Neot River.
It then follows the A38 through the wooded Glynn Valley past Trago Mills, the Halfway House Inn, RIVERMEAD FARM, Lanhydrock House [A National Trust property] onto Restormal Castle then passes through the tidal reaches at Lostwithiel and finally running into the sea at Fowey.
RIVERMEAD FARM has approximately one mile of single bank fishing on the River Fowey, which forms our southern boundary.
The Fowey is not a wide river being approximately 45 feet wide on average; the river is tree lined with streamy runs and small pools.
There are some good fly fishing areas, however, the trees do make it slightly more difficult to use this method of fishing but not impossible.
SEA TROUT FISHING
Commences 1st. April and can be good through April and May with the very large fish running through.
June sees a good run of 2 to 4lb fish straight from the sea.
July and August see the school peal arriving.
The sea trout season ends on the 30th. September.
SALMON FISHING
Also commences on the 1st. April, however, as with all English and Welsh rivers all salmon must be returned until 16th.June
Grilse are present throughout the summer and also the occasional salmon.
Salmon runs commence August/ September weather permitting and continue to improve in size and quantity through to the end of the season.
The last two or three years have seen the salmon running progressively later than usual, running on cold water conditions through Christmas and into January.
Salmon fishing closes on the 15th.December.

PLEASE NOTE
The Fowey River Association requests that all sea trout caught during September should be returned to the river for conservation purposes.
