Company Profile

THE PATTERNSHOP was established in 1993, in the town of Attleborough close to Snetterton Race Circuit in Norfolk. The Patternshop was an immediate success creating handmade patterns and was soon employing two full time staff and up to three part time staff. Although the first five years of business was good and our customer base was ever expanding, the era of the hand made pattern was coming to an end. The customer was demanding ever more accurate and cheaper models but also requiring a quick turnaround.

In 1998, in answer to the demanding nature of the rapidly changing market we invested in a CNC router. The machine was designed and built to our own specifications and has full 3(+2) axis CNC Routing capability. A fully operational market leading CAD/CAM system, which enables us to run all of our own tool paths, backs up this system.

Our in house trained programmers/machinists are also qualified patternmakers. This gives them an unparalleled understanding of the overall picture. The machine operator understands the complexities of both the machining and of what is required from the pattern itself. This makes life easier for everybody. Problems are more readily seen and dealt with at an early stage by patternmakers who are then able rectify the fault themselves. A patternmaker also has the advantage of being able to see the job through from beginning to end.

Maximum O/A machining size is X2500mm Y1300mm Z750mm using 3(+2) axis machining or up to X3200mm Y1600mm Z750mm by strictly 2 or 3 axis machining. Nominal accuracy is -/+0.25mm but +/-0.1 is possible if the job requires.

THE PATTERNSHOP offers a complete service, from designing the required component to producing the actual model to painting and preparation and on to prototype and arranging full production.
