SCOTT-BROADWOOD
CHURCH OF ENGLAND (Aided) INFANT SCHOOL
at Ockley and Capel
"The small school with great expectations"
Scott-Broadwood School is a Church of England school for children aged 4-7 years. There are currently about 80 children on roll.
The School comprises the village schools of Ockley and Capel which were federated in 1994 under the administration of one headteacher and Governing Body. This arrangement provided greater financial security and made it easier for a small school to meet the demands of the National Curriculum. The School therefore operates on two sites (known as ‘Bases’) but each retains its unique village school character and links with its own community.
The name 'Scott-Broadwood' is derived from Jane Scott who founded Ockley School in 1841 and the Broadwood family who created Capel School in 1826.
