Her Royal Highness, the Princes Royal visited Ockley on Thursday afternoon, 17th May 01.
She arrived on the Green by helicopter at around 1.45 for a brief visit to Jayes Park. At 2.45, Her Royal Highness, in the company of Gordon Lee-Steere, arrived at the newly completed Prideaux Gardens development of affordable housing.
Before visiting one of the houses, she unveiled a plaque to mark her visit and the work of the late Michael Calvert, who had done so much work for the Rural Trust.
The Royal Party retired to the Village Hall where she joined many invited villagers for tea before departing an hour or so later.
