The blue V12 E Type Jaguar was brought in for an Annual Inspection and Service.
On inspection we discovered the Steering Rack was leaking its power steering oil, so we removed it from the car and reconditioned it on our premises.
The same E Type had a running problem which was not curable by carburettor adjustment, so it was decided that it must be carboned up on the back of the Inlet Valves to cure this problem without incurring any major expense.
A Forte Gas Treatment was added to the Petrol Tank - this treatment (after running the vehicle for about 10 miles) cleaned the valves and cured the problem. Forte do a wide range of additives which we highly recommend, but we must add that they do not put metal back on worn components! As part of an Annual Service, however, they will decrease wear.
The red 1968 3.8 Series 1 E Type Jaguar was with us for a Full Engine Recon.
It also had Koni Rear Shock Absorbers and new springs. Propshaft Universal Joints were replaced because this can only be done with the engine and gearbox or the rear axle completely removed from the vehicle. It also had Koni Front Shock Absorbers and Torsion Bars fitted, as well as its annual inspection for MOT.
