A tale of two men.
Both with a passion.
One, James Martin Calder, born locally and the other, Hamish McDuff,who despite his glorious name was born in Kenya where his father owned a tea plantation.
Hamish McDuff is passionate about tea. His tea, he says. Hamish McDuff came back to his fathers beloved Taynuilt many years ago after his father’s death.
Hamish McDuff is our master tea blender and it is entirely to his merit that today we have Scottish Highland Blend Tea.
So far our master blender has two unique blends under his sporran – Scottish Highland Breakfast Blend (actually it is a great all day tea) and Scottish Highland Crofter Blend for those who like their tea with a bit more ‘bite’.
Hamish McDuff is currently working on two more blends of tea to hopefully co-incide with something big happening in Taynuilt soon. WATCH THIS SPACE. Then there is James Martin Calder Watson –known to all as Jim. His especial passion is coffee. Fresh ground from the bean. Jim hand picks our beans and ensures that they are roasted to perfection before being packed in airtight foil bags and then being rushed to eager customers.
Jim’s especial passion is espresso coffee brewers and to be quite honest he can go on, and on, and on about them a bit. However, as a fully trained BARISTA he certainly knows how to put together a great Cappuccino and his Café Mocha is to die for.
We at Coffee Direct (Scotland) Ltd have a very simple mission statement:

We don’t just provide quality teas, coffees and state of the art brewing equipment, we also offer on site training FREE! What is the point, says Jim, of having lovely shiny espresso brewers and staff who do not know the difference between steaming milk and frothing milk
