Acorn Systems was set up in January 1982 to design and manufacture specialist High Tech automation Equipment for the Electronics Industry.
From small beginnings the company prospered and in two years had moved into a larger industrial premises on the towns Industrial Estate.

In 1991 with surplus capacity to fill our interest turned to shooting sports where there seemed to be a place for a small, light weight automatic Clay Pigeon Trap.

It was clear that there was a gap in the market for a Trap between the large 'club type' machines and simple hand traps. By applying some of the principles developed in our industrial machines we designed the single stack trap, the first of which we call the 'Autoclay', that were manufactured and sold in ever increasing numbers.

With continuous development a new generation of machines has evolved over this period which caters for most aspects of the sport and, with volume production has brought the cost of automation within reach of everyone.
